I’ve been a fan of StarWars most of my life and have been fortunate to work on a number of StarWars theatrical launches. So, when Target asked for help launching their new Clone Wars animated series we were ready to try some new strategies. Lucasfilm offered Target a number of exclusive red charachters so we showcased them throughout the campaign. Collectively fans are familiar with storm troopers so we used the simple powerful icon to spell out the Target logo, stand at attention at the entrances as sentrys, and throughout the digital content. We created articulated giveaways, clone popcorn buckets for theaters and red robes for Comic Con influencer’s hotel rooms. We also tasked the 501st Legion to help bring Clone Wars to life at Comic Con for Target.
